AGBT 2026 wrapped up this week in Phoenix, bringing together the global genomics community for several days of cutting‑edge science and technology.
Sailgene was on site, sharing how we're pushing the limits of sequencing technology.
Here's what we featured at our booth:
● PacBio Revio – high‑accuracy long‑read sequencing on a new scale
● Ultra‑Long ONT Reads (150kb+) – spanning the toughest repetitive regions and capturing structural variants that short reads miss
● T2T Genome Solution – complete, gap‑free telomere‑to‑telomere assembly using ONT‑only data
● Full‑Length Single‑Cell Sequencing – isoform‑level resolution to uncover cellular diversity
● Direct RNA Sequencing – native RNA detection that preserves full‑length transcripts and RNA modifications
Throughout the meeting, our booth drew a steady stream of researchers — from principal investigators to core lab directors — all eager to talk about nanopore workflows, complete genome assembly, and how to finally close those stubborn gaps.
A special highlight of our time in Phoenix was the 3‑minute spotlight talk delivered by Dr. Mitchell Godin in the Exhibit Hall (Komatke Ballroom), titled:
"Closing the Gaps: Ultra‑Long Reads for T2T Genomes."
Dr. Godin walked the audience through real‑world examples of how ultra‑long ONT reads are enabling telomere‑to‑telomere assemblies in complex plant and animal genomes — work that wasn't possible just a few years ago.
